GRAMIN, a child born on 8th September, 1995 with the dream of working for the rural poor was like a small boat in the mighty ocean without sail or oars that too against the wind. And at a time when there was absolute need of nourishment for grow and build strength. But we are lucky that may be because of its cause of existence, sincerity, honesty and involvement towards achieving its goal GRAMIN could receive faith, love and affection of the people for which it was formed. Since its inception GRAMIN could ensure recognitions, respects, honors, awards and accolades from diverse and varied organizations and institutions leaving high regards from the target group.
NABARD is the first national institution to publicly recognize the sincerity and capability of GRAMIN. NABARD exhibited this faith through selection of GRAMIN for organizing state level sensitization workshop on SHG linkage for Bankers, State Govt. Official for rural development and PRI and NGOs, for the first time in ASSAM, on 12-09-2000.
On the occasion of the Independence Day Celebration ,2001, Biswanath Sub-Divisional Administration falicitated GRAMIN for its outstanding contribution towards rural development through formation and promotion of Self Help Groups (SHG). On 18th March, 2002 NABARD honored GRAMIN by presenting an Award ‘in recognition of its efforts made in promotion and facilitation of credit linkage of SHG during the year 2000-01.’ Again on the occasion of Republic Day, 2002 , Sonitpur District Administration felicitated GRAMIN for formation and promotion of Self Help Groups (SHG). On 6th May, 2003 NABARD ‘in recognition of the efforts made in promotion and facilitation of credit linkage of SHGs recorded its appreciation and had the pleasurein presenting meritorious performance Award’ for the year 2001-02
